A leaked email from a Democratic operative confirms what most Americans knew the moment then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch met privately with former President Bill Clinton on a tarmac in Arizona.
The document reportedly indicated Lynch was willing to do whatever it took to protect Hillary Clinton from criminal charges over the use of private email servers.
Calling it “one of the most significant headlines coming out of the hearing,” Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported that the hacked email contained assurances Lynch would make sure the FBI investigation of Clinton “didn’t go too far.”
“What we heard today for the first time were details about a document that related to Attorney General Loretta Lynch that had been obtained by Russian hackers,” she said. “And that the document indicated that Lynch would do whatever it took to prevent criminal charges to be brought against Hillary Clinton in the email probe.”
Of course, when asked about the email this week while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Comey refused to reveal who sent the email and who received it.
“In several of the questions referring to Loretta Lynch the FBI director said he couldn’t discuss it in an open unclassified setting,” Herridge said. “The FBI director said today he felt boxed in by Lynch and kind of a victim of circumstances. But that really didn’t wash with Republicans who were on the committeewho felt that the FBI director did something extraordinary at the end of last year.”
That being that Comey “overreached” when he recommended to the Department of Justice in 2016 that no charges should be brought against Clinton for her handling of classified information through private email servers.
Not only does it appear that Lady Justice peeked from behind the blindfold under the Obama administration, it looks as if she lit the cloth afire.
