On Sunday, an ex Obama official admitted that, regardless of the fact that the administration touted that the agreement was unambiguous success, the U.S. “always knew” deal with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad didn’t remove the entire chemical weapon out of Syria.
An ex deputy Secretary of State and former deputy National Security Adviser under former president Barack Obama, Tony Blinken told the New York Times, “We always knew we had not gotten everything, that the Syrians had not been fully forthcoming in their declaration.”
Former Secretary of State under Obama, John Kerry, along with Obama’s National Security Adviser Susan Rice, touted a deal from 2013 with Russia, Syria and the United States that was planned to remove the bunch of chemical weapons set by Assad’s regime. In 2014, Kerry stated that the agreement’s outcome was Syria clearing “100 percent” of the chemical weapons.
But last week’s chemical weapon on civilians only restarted the condemnation of the deal and refusal to support threats of military force against Syria, which was organized by Obama administration.
Ex Obama State Department official, Ann-Marie Slaughter praised President Donald Trump’s attacks against Syria on Twitter, differing from the move favorably with “years of useless handwringing in the face of hideous atrocities.”
Another ex official under Obama administration accused Syrian President for his failure to reveal the entirety of chemical weapons arsenal.
